Hi, I’m Christina. When I started working as a Speech-Language Pathologist, I was in a more “traditional” role in adult stroke rehabilitation. While I still work with this population, over the years I’ve started exploring other avenues of speech and communication, as they coincided with my personal experiences. Since then, I’ve loved helping my clients discover their desired communication styles and voices, and watching their confidence grow across our sessions.
I received my Masters in Communication Sciences and Disorders from McGill University, and have worked with clients and patients of all ages. My previous experience and training has allowed me to support clients from all backgrounds to achieve their personal and professional goals.
In my sessions, I use a variety of technical strategies, including focusing on tongue height, lip rounding, and voicing, while also allowing space for clients to improve their self-awareness and monitoring. I encourage clients to make mistakes during our sessions so we can adjust their speech and communication accordingly, and they can work on internalizing strategies and re-building speech habits. Clients can expect personalized practice after each session that gradually allows them to think about and integrate strategies in their day-to-day environments.
Outside of my sessions, I love taking my dog for walks and creating connections with other dog walkers, building conversations based on mutual interests.
